Just Rickenbackers

About

So you want to know a little about me... where do I start? My name is Ryan. I am an alcoho... no wait ... a Rickenholic? Anyways, I love Rickenbacker's, both basses and guitars and I'm here to share my love of these instruments with you. Don't be alarmed, I don't work for the company; I simply adore the products they make. The basses so fine, the guitars so smooth, whatever is there to actually lose?

Way back in the beginning, I discovered the Beatles. I watched the Anthology series and spotted Paul playing a funky painted bass guitar. I can't say it was a tasteful paintjob, but I recall the overall shape and thinking "that's pretty cool." Fast forward to today, and I recognized that exact bass shape as a Rickenbacker 4001S/RM1999/4003S.

A few years later, my dad introduces me to the compilation album "Highlights: The Very Best of Yes" where he told me a story about going to his friend's house and listening to the track "Roundabout" and the bass distinctly reverberated around the room. After reading into it, I realized that every bassist and his mother were trying to reproduce that tone Chris Squire produced! With the help of Aceonbassworks, I was able to eventually get there to having Chris Squire tone.

So here I am, wondering what to do with my Rickenbacker knowledge and fascination with the brand. I've created a website for your benefit, to learn about the brand, the instruments, and get to see some of my collection while you're at it.
